Results of the 3rd Annual Golf Outing

On behalf of The Dragonfly Transplant Fund golf outing committee, we would like to thank our sponsors, donors, and golfers for making our 3rd Annual Golf Outing a HUGE success!!

We would like to extend a very special thank you to our volunteers, Mike and the team at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, Iowa Donor Network, the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, the University of Iowa Transplant Center, and the Iowa DNR. Thank you for supporting our mission every day and helping us work toward our vision for the Dragonfly Transplant Fund. Also, thank you to Deb for watching over us and ensuring we had beautiful weather for our golf outing. 

We look forward to seeing you at our 4th Annual Golf Outing at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa on Friday, August 20th, 2021! Stay tuned for registration information in the coming months.

Logan's Law

From the Iowa DNR: Logan’s Law, named after Logan Luft, was enacted in 2019 and allows hunting, fishing and trapping license buyers to declare as an organ, eye and tissue donor, when purchasing hunting and fishing licenses, very similar to declaring when purchasing or renewing a driver’s license.

By registering as an organ donor you authorize your organs, eyes, and tissues to be donated at the time of your death. Organs, eyes and tissues will be recovered for the purpose of transplantation; however, in the event a donated organ, eye or tissue cannot be used for transplant, an effort will be made to use the donation for research.

Logan's Law inspires nearly 3,000 organ donor signups

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Logan's law helped to add nearly 3 thousand names to Iowa's organ donor registry in its first year. The Iowa Donor Network said 2,900 people registered their organs, eyes and tissues when getting a hunting or fishing license. The law is named after 15-year-old Logan Luft who died in 2017.
