"We have been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak around the globe. Your health and safety is a top priority to us. It is with this in mind that we are postponing the 2020 Green 5K Run and Walk, originally scheduled for April 18. We are working with our vendors and hope to secure a new date later this year.
We want to thank you all for supporting Iowa Donor Network and the Green 5K, whether you signed up to run, raise funds, or volunteer. If you registered to run in the Green 5K, your registration fees will be valid for the new date. If you created a fundraising page, all funds raised will still go to support Iowa Donor Network. Contributions are vital to the work we do. They help us support donor families, raise donation awareness, maintain the Iowa Donor Registry, and much more.
We will keep you updated as we get information about the new race date. Until then, you can continue to support Iowa Donor Network and the work we do by becoming a virtual runner, creating a fundraising page, or making a contribution to Iowa Donor Network.  | "Iowa Donor Network will host the 13th annual Green 5K Fun Run and Walk on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. The course will be on the scenic path around Blue Heron Lake. Join us to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of recipients, and recognize those who continue to wait for a life-saving transplant. |
This is a fun, family-friendly event with the goal to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation. We encourage you to wear your best and brightest GREEN attire and show us how you get your green on!"
