New in 2026: Caregiver Journals

With the Dragonfly Transplant Fund, every act of care is rooted in a simple belief: when we support caregivers, we strengthen the entire transplant journey.

That belief comes to life in a new and meaningful way with the launch of our Caregiver Journals, created especially for those walking alongside patients in the transplant process at the University of Iowa Health Care Organ Transplant Cente.

Caregivers are often the steady presence in a whirlwind of appointments, medications, lab results, and emotions. They hold schedules, ask questions, remember details, and offer unwavering encouragement…often while setting their own needs aside. These journals are designed to gently remind caregivers that their well-being matters too.

Each journal includes blank, open-ended pages for note-taking, reflections, and personal thoughts, along with moments of self-care inspiration and encouraging prompts. Whether it’s jotting down questions for a care team, tracking medications, or simply writing out feelings after a long day, the journal becomes a quiet companion in a season that can feel anything but quiet. Our volunteers hope that the impact of these journals extends far beyond paper and ink.

To make the gift complete, caregivers will also receive a pen, so they can begin using their journal right away. These journals will be distributed directly by Navigators within the Organ Transplant Center, ensuring they reach caregivers at a moment when support is most needed.

Transplant journeys are filled with courage, resilience, and hope. By offering these Caregiver Journals, Dragonfly Transplant Fund hopes to wrap caregivers in a small but powerful message: You are not alone, and your care matters.
