A Special Valentine's Day Surprise
On Monday, February 15th, two of our volunteers with the Dragonfly Transplant Fund, Ed Brown and Jack Blong, visited the UIHC Transplant Center to share a special Valentine's Day brunch with the employees. As a thank you and a celebration of their hard work in 2020, Ed Brown donated a boxed brunch to 50 staff members on behalf of the Dragonfly Transplant Fund.

Iowa Donor Network 2020 Report
In their recent newsletter, Iowa Donor Network announced "a record number of Iowans transformed lives through organ donation and transplantation." They reported that over 100 Iowans donated over 300 organs to recipients across the state. For more information, please visit www.IowaDonorNetwork.org. Dragonfly Transplant Fund Gift Card Program Update
As our volunteers with the Dragonfly Transplant Fund start fundraising in 2021, we are excited to announce that the new gift card program is finally underway! Ed Brown, co-founder of the Dragonfly Transplant Fund, has generously donated 550 $5 gift cards to Bread Garden Market to transplant patients and their families as they stay at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics' Transplant Center.

Logan's Law
Logan’s Law, named after Logan Luft, was enacted in 2019 and allows hunting, fishing and trapping license buyers to declare as an organ, eye and tissue donor, when purchasing hunting and fishing licenses, very similar to declaring when purchasing or renewing a driver’s license.

Due to the rainy weather forecast, the 3rd Annual Dragonfly Transplant Fund Golf Outing & Fundraiser has been RESCHEDULED for Tuesday, October 13th, 2020. Our committee of volunteers plans to honor the same schedule of events as originally planned.

Iowa Donor Network Goes VIRTUAL!

Iowa Donor Network 2019 Annual Report
According to a report in The Gazette, "a total of 92 Iowans had authorized donating 290 organs for transplant this past year, according to the Iowa Donor Network, the state's organ procurement organization, ... The Iowa Donor Network also reported a total of 929 tissue donors in 2019."

If nothing else, it has been fired up by the support we have received during this difficult time for our family, friends, and supporters. The founders of the Dragonfly Transplant Fund, Deb and Ed Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, had a special reason to celebrate on Sunday, April 12th. Not only was it a very special Easter, but they were celebrating their wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary, Deb & Ed!

Due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to POSTPONE the The Dragonfly Transplant Fund's 3rd Annual Golf Outing & Fundraiser to Friday, September 11, 2020 at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa. Ed Brown will be contacting all registrants this week. Your registration will be applied to the newly scheduled date.
