We've made it an entire year since we've golfed together to support the Dragonfly Transplant Fund. It's time to celebrate golf week! Our team of volunteers is beyond is excited to see everyone THIS FRIDAY at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course for our 6th Annual Golf Outing & Fundraiser.

On Friday, July 14th, we were thrilled to participate in the Iowa Transplant Open at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. 

We walked to HONOR those who have given the gift of life, to CELEBRATE lives saved and healed, and to SUPPORT those waiting for a life-saving transplant. THANK YOU to those supporters who walked/ran with us on Saturday, May 6th, in Des Moines.

Mark your calendars for Friday, August 18th, 2023! We're excited to return to Blue Top Ridge Golf Course at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa for our 6th Annual Dragonfly Transplant Fund Golf Outing and Fundraiser. 

The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Organ Transplant Center now has a video portal through YouTube to share more information on the transplant process for patients, their caregivers, and their loved ones.

April is Donate Life Month. One donor can save up to 8 lives through organ dona­tion and save and heal 50 – 300 lives through tis­sue donation.

"I had my first cornea transplant in 2005 with Dr. Jacobs at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was a scary whirlwind. I didn't know anyone else that ever had a cornea transplant and I felt completely alone afterwards. About six years after my transplant, I had the amazing honor of meeting my donor's family.”

In 2022, the Dragonfly Transplant Fund was able to create an endowed fund in honor of Deb Brown through the University of Iowa Center for Advancement. UIHC Organ Transplant Center Assistant Nurse Manager Andrea Koehler has been awarded the inaugural scholarship.

We had the opportunity to meet Leslie McCloy, Post-Transplant Kidney/Pancreas Coordinator at UIHC at the Iowa Donor Network Donor Dash 5K in August. Leslie has an incredible passion for transplant care and a special story to share, and we are honored to share her story with our Dragonfly supporters.
